Actor James Marsters spent part of his Christmas break visiting his hometown in Modesto, California. James was a special guest star in a Christmas production put on by Modesto high school and junior high choirs. The school choirs performed at the State Theatre in downtown Modesto on December 11, 1999. James opened the show with a short introduction. After all the school choirs had performed, James ended the show by reading The Night Before Christmas on stage with an audience of young children gathered around him. He graciously made himself available for autographs and pictures after the reading.
